I got a dev phone and found the UI is different from the one I saw in the vedio on youtube.

    Now I have some questions:

    1. How could I install apps? Because there's no drop-down menu so I cannot enter USB mode.

    2. Where can I find apps to download?

    3. When pressing volume- and power button, the phone seems enter the flashing mode. It shows "cable is connected" and "Do not turn the phone off while downloading" but actually it downloads noting.

    4. Why this phone's UI is different to the one I saw before?

I've tried but it only shows "cable is connected" and "Do not turn the phone off while downloading" without downloading anything.

I mean I don't know how to move data into the phone

According to me the instructions are not about to be published.

When I originally asked on the mailing list for flashing instructions, I was greeted with silence, and I then asked the community manager to get the information. It wasn't until after I had to bug the community manager a second time about the flashing instructions that there was a mailing list post about the instructions being published soon. The post stated that the instructions would be available a week ago. When I asked for an update to the status of the instructions, I was again not responded to and I have again written to the community manager.

The concept of "community" seems to be lost to Tizen. It should not be necessary for community members to have to ask a "community manager" for this sort of information.

rzr, that link just repeats what was mentioned on the mailing on June 6th https://lists.tizen.org/pipermail/general/2012-June/000668.html

While there were a few people at the Tizen conference that declined the device, there were still hundreds of people in attendance (myself included) who received the "lunchbox".

From what the community manager just told me... nothing seems to have changed. I'll let you know when I get an update.

Make sure phone(device) should be in a download mode
before connecting phone to PC with USB cable.
(How to enter download mode : press <volume-down> + <power> key)
